Esperienza in ostello a Londra!

Non tutti sono a conoscenza del fatto che l'ostello è un simbolo di Londra e ancora oggi ne esistono parecchi! Nel mio viaggio in UK ho scelto proprio una di queste soluzioni per pernottare, e vi racconto la mia esperienza! La struttura che ho scelto si trova nella zona di Elephant & Castle ed era un ex scuola trasformata appunto in dormitorio. Al contrario di come ci si potrebbe aspettare non ho trovato un ambiente squallido ma bensì una reception aperta 24h e tante aree comuni di gioco, svago e una caffetteria.

Le camerate si sviluppano in vari piani e varie tipologie di stanze (con più o meno letti) e i bagni sono esterni. Ti verrà assegnato un posto letto in dormitorio e delle lenzuola così che potrai farti autonomamente il letto. L'esperienza è stata estremamente positiva in quanto ho trovato mola pulizia sia in camera che nei bagni e in generale negli spazi comuni. Ho conosciuto parecchia gente di varia nazionalità e di varia tipologia (studenti, medici, turisti, lavoratori ecc.) quindi non è un "posto per poveri" ma bensì un luogo per chi viaggia da solo o in compagnia e vuole stare in contatto con altra gente. Inoltre è classico lasciare la propria roba (anche di valore) di fronte al proprio letto o nelle aree comuni e nonostante ciò non si sono verificati furti o cose del genere. Not everyone is aware of the fact that the hostel is a symbol of London and there are still several today! On my trip to the UK I chose just one of these solutions to stay overnight, and I'll tell you about my experience! The structure I chose is located in the Elephant & Castle area and was a former school transformed into a dormitory. Contrary to what you might expect, I did not find a shabby environment but rather a 24-hour reception and many common areas for play, leisure and a coffee shop.
The bedrooms are developed on various floors and various types of rooms (with more or less beds) and the bathrooms are external. You will be assigned a bed in the dormitory and sheets so that you can make your own bed. The experience was extremely positive as I found mola clean both in the room and in the bathrooms and in general in the common areas. I have met many people of various nationalities and of various types (students, doctors, tourists, workers, etc.) so it is not a "place for the poor" but a place for those who travel alone or in company and want to be in contact with other people. It is also classic to leave your stuff (even valuable) in front of your bed or in the common areas and despite this there have been no theft or anything like that.
