Verona (2024)

È stato a febbraio del 2024 che ho avuto il privilegio di visitare la meravigliosa città di Verona insieme alla mia ragazza e ancora oggi mi ritrovo a rivivere ogni singolo momento con una chiarezza cristallina. Il tempo era un po' freddo ma non è stato un problema perché ha aggiunto fascino a questa città intrisa di storia e cultura.
La mia ragazza, Ilaria, è stata felicissima di questo viaggio soprattutto quando abbiamo visitato la casa di Giulietta.

Giunti nel cuore del centro storico, ci siamo trovati immersi in un labirinto di strette strade lastricate fiancheggiate da edifici storici che sembrano raccontare storie antiche al solo guardarli. L'atmosfera romantica di Verona era tangibile fin da subito, motivo per cui la definisco come la città in Italia perfetta per andarci con il proprio parter ed è da visitare almeno una volta nella vita.

La prima tappa del mio viaggio ci ha condotto a Piazza Bra, una vasta piazza dominata dalla maestosità dell'Arena di Verona. che con la sua imponente struttura in pietra si stagliava contro il cielo chiaro ed è emozionante trovarsi di fronte a un simbolo così iconico della cultura italiana.

Dopo esserci incantati di fronte all'Arena, abbiamo proseguito il viaggio verso la Casa di Giulietta. L'attrazione principale di questo luogo magico è il celebre balcone, reso famoso da Shakespeare nella sua opera "Romeo e Giulietta", le coppie innamorate si scambiavano promesse d'amore sotto lo sguardo della statua di Giulietta e noi non siamo stati da meno acquistando anche un lucchetto, è un'esperienza che ha tocca le corde del cuore e obbligatoria per chiunque visiti questa città.

Dopo aver lasciato il mondo di Giulietta, l'avventura si sposta alla Casa Museo Palazzo Maffei, uno splendido edificio storico, con le sue facciate affrescate e i suoi intricati dettagli architettonici, ha offerto un'immersione completa nella ricca storia di Verona, attraverso le sale riccamente decorate e le opere presenti ho avuto l'opportunità di scoprire le molteplici sfaccettature della cultura veronese, inoltre è importante ricordare che al suo interno si trova anche un Picasso.

Alla fine di questo viaggio ho portato con me non solo ricordi indelebili, ma anche una profonda gratitudine per aver avuto l'opportunità di esplorare una città così straordinaria nonostante il freddo, a mio parere può essere considerata la "capitale dell'Amore" Italiana da vivere con la propria metà, ma è anche un luogo di cultura per gli appassionati del genere.
Unico punto negativo sono i costi, infatti nonostante il nostro albergo non sia costato troppo per essere un quattro stelle, tutto il resto è troppo caro a mio parere a partire dal cibo ai classici ricordini che si acquistano per portarli a casa, al contrario il costo di accesso ad opere e musei è bilanciato ed equo con ciò che si trova. Esperienza da ripetere sicuramente ma in un periodo meno freddo, tre o quattro notti a mio parere possono essere sufficienti per visitare le attrazioni principali.

It was in February 2024 that I had the privilege to visit the wonderful city of Verona with my girlfriend, and even today I find myself reliving every single moment with crystal-clear clarity. The weather was a bit cold, but it wasn't a problem because it added charm to this city steeped in history and culture. My girlfriend, Ilaria, was thrilled about this trip, especially when we visited Juliet's house.
Arriving in the heart of the historic center, we found ourselves immersed in a maze of narrow cobbled streets lined with historic buildings that seemed to tell ancient stories just by looking at them. The romantic atmosphere of Verona was palpable from the start, which is why I consider it the perfect city in Italy to visit with your partner, and it's a must-visit at least once in a lifetime.
The first stop of our journey led us to Piazza Bra, a vast square dominated by the majesty of the Verona Arena. It was thrilling to stand in front of such an iconic symbol of Italian culture. After being enchanted by the Arena, we continued our journey to Juliet's House. The main attraction of this magical place is the famous balcony, made famous by Shakespeare in his play "Romeo and Juliet". We weren't far behind the other loving couples who exchanged promises of love under the gaze of Juliet's statue, and we even bought a padlock ourselves. It's an experience that touches the heart and is mandatory for anyone visiting this city.
After leaving Juliet's world behind, the adventure moved on to the Casa Museo Palazzo Maffei, a splendid historic building with its frescoed facades and intricate architectural details. It offered a complete immersion into the rich history of Verona. Through the richly decorated rooms and the works of art present, I had the opportunity to discover the many facets of Veronese culture. It's also important to note that there is even a Picasso inside.
At the end of this journey, I carried with me not only indelible memories but also a deep gratitude for having had the opportunity to explore such an extraordinary city despite the cold. In my opinion, it can be considered the Italian "capital of Love" to be experienced with one's better half, but it's also a place of culture for enthusiasts of the genre. The only downside is the costs. In fact, despite our hotel not being too expensive for a four-star, everything else is too expensive in my opinion, starting from food to the classic souvenirs bought to take home. On the contrary, the cost of access to artworks and museums is balanced and fair for what you find. It's an experience definitely worth repeating, but in a less cold period. Three or four nights in my opinion can be sufficient to visit the main attractions.
